LG thanks PM for giving J&K opportunity to lead IDY celebrations
Srinagar, June 21: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Friday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for providing Jammu and Kashmir with an opportunity to lead the celebrations for International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2024.
Addressing the 10th IDY programme at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, the LG said, “PM Narendra Modi performed yoga with thousands of yoga enthusiasts at Srinagar. I am grateful to the PM for providing J&K an opportunity to lead the IDY celebrations. This historic event has put J&K on the global map.”
He said that yoga plays the most significant role in enhancing the physical, psychological, and emotional aspects of well-being.
“The PM has taken yoga to the world and today this invaluable gift from our ancient tradition is being practised across the world,” LG Sinha said. “Yoga is a holistic approach towards happiness. It is the first step towards a healthy life. It unites body and mind as saint Patanjali had said that body and mind are one. Yoga brings consciousness and through consciousness, pure joy is born.”
