KU to fill all vacant Director posts soon: VC
Srinagar, Dec 21: The University of Kashmir (KU) administration is likely to fill all the vacant positions of Directors of different departments in the varsity.
Talking to Greater Kashmir, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of KU, Prof Nilofer Khan, said that all the vacant positions of Directors in the university would be filled soon.
“I am at it. All these positions will be filled,” the VC KU told Greater Kashmir.
The statement comes after the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) asked the KU to “urgently” initiate the recruitment process for the post of Director of Media Centre (Educational Multimedia Research Centre).
CEC had earlier too sent a communiqué to KU about it on May 29, 2023.
An official said two communications were issued to KU by CEC to advertise the post of Director EMMRC. “But the post is managed by giving additional charge to a professor,” the official said.
The official said that in addition to the post of Director of EMMRC, the posts of Director of Physical Education, Director of South Campus, Director of Kupwara Campus, and Director of Zakura Campus are vacant.
“The post is managed by senior professors as their additional assignment or those having been appointed as incharge,” the official said.
The official said that the post of Director Lifelong Learning was also lying vacant and the charge of the post had been given to HoD Social Welfare Department.
“The post of Director DIQA is also lying vacant and is managed by a professor as incharge,” the official said.
The official said besides the post of Directors, the post of Additional Controller of Examination was also vacant in the university.
“Several posts of Deputy Registrars and Assistant Registrars are also unfilled. The post of PRO KU is also lying vacant for a long period,” the official said.
Registrar KU Prof Naseer Iqbal told Greater Kashmir that the issue about the vacant positions of Assistant Registrars and Junior Assistants had been caught in the court and the varsity was following the issue to resolve the cases.
“We are trying to resolve the issue with the court so that these positions will be filled soon. We are also trying to get the positions of Directors of different departments to be filled as soon as possible,” Prof Iqbal said.
