Christchurch, Mar 17: Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah has been fined 50 percent of his match fee for breaching Level 2 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch on Sunday, the ICC said.
"Khushdil was found to have breached Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee, or any other person (including a spectator during an International Match)"," the ICC statement read.
In addition to this, three demerit points have been added to Khushdil’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period.
The incident occurred in the eighth over of Pakistan’s innings, when running between the wickets, Khushdil made inappropriate physical contact with bowler Zakary Foulkes with a high degree of force, which was reckless, negligent, and avoidable.
