Kashmiri boy makes history in Indian Esports
Srinagar, Oct 3: Fauz-i-Azeem has become Kashmir's first esports champion, securing victory at the prestigious Realme Campus Gaming League finals held at Chennai's Sri Sairam College of Engineering.
The breakthrough win, which carried a prize purse of `2 lakh, marks Kashmir's entry into India's competitive gaming landscape.
Competing in Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), Fauz-i-Azeem outmanoeuvred competitors from across the country in the tournament's final rounds at the college's Sigma Auditorium. His victory represents the first major esports achievement by a Kashmiri player at the national level.
"This win isn't just for me, but for every young gamer in Kashmir who dreams of competing professionally," said Fauz-i-Azeem after his victory. "I hope this opens doors for more players from our region."
