Shopian gears up for 'Nagrai Heemal' winter carnival

Shopian, Jan 2: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, Thursday visited Dubjan along the Mughal Road to oversee preparations for the Winter Carnival.

The event, as per the government, aims to promote tourism, culture, and community engagement in the district and is scheduled to be held on January 11th & 12th.

The Winter Carnival, named "NAGRAI HEEMAL," as per the officials, is set to feature a variety of activities, including snow crafts, snow igloos, ice sports, competitions for children, and exhibitions of local cuisine and arts.

The district administration is coordinating efforts across various departments to ensure the event's success.

During his visit, DC emphasized the importance of effective planning and collaboration among departments to provide a memorable experience for participants and to showcase the unique cultural and natural attractions of Shopian.

The district administration invites locals and tourists to participate in the Winter Carnival and experience the diverse activities planned, aiming to make it a significant annual event in Shopian's cultural calendar.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone, ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, ACR, Shakoor Ahmed Dar and other concerned accompanied the Deputy Commissioner.
