Srinagar, Oct 30: A team of 16 visually impaired judokas from Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory have made the region proud by securing the overall trophy at the 3rd Visually Impaired Youth National Judo Championship.

The J&K contingent, comprising 6 girls and 10 boys, won an impressive haul of 10 medals - 6 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze.

The national-level competition, organised by the Indian Blind and Para Judo Association in collaboration with the Indian Blind Sports Association, was held from October 26-27, in Lucknow. Over 150 judokas from 16 states and UTs participated in the event.

J&K's standout performer was Anekha Devi, who won the Best Player trophy for her exceptional display. The gold medalists from the Union Territory have now been selected to represent India at the upcoming Tashkent Youth Asian Para Games 2025.
