J&K Police Martyrs Memorial football: Day 3 witnesses high-scoring clashes

Srinagar, Sep 24: The third day of the 20th J&K Police Martyrs Memorial Football Tournament witnessed five action-packed matches at Polo Ground and Synthetic Turf TRC on Wednesday, with teams delivering dominant wins, close contests and standout individual performances.

As per a police statement, a total of five exciting matches were played, with Kawal FC registering a dominant 6–1 victory. Aryan scored once, and Jacki struck three goals, while Renedy and Fardeen added one each. Mohsin scored the lone goal for Zone Rafiabad.

The Man of the Match award was given to Jackey Singh (Jersey No. 17, Kawal FC).

In match no. 18, in a nail-biting encounter, Kashmir United edged past Kashmir Elegant FC via tie-breaker (3–2) after a 1–1 draw in regulation time. Mohsin scored for Kashmir United, while Aqib equalised for Kashmir Elegant.

The Man of the Match award was given to Muneer Ahmad (Jersey No. 01, Kashmir United FC).

Arco FC outclassed Star Kashmir with a commanding 5–0 win. Basit Khan netted a brilliant hat-trick, supported by goals from Suhaib Bhatt and Mueen Rafiq.

The Man of the Match award was given to Basit Khan (Jersey No. 07, Arco FC).

In another match Kashmir Panthers stormed to a 6–2 victory over Sports Council Football Academy. Fahad delivered a stellar performance, scoring five goals, while Danish contributed one, with Fahad (Jersey No. 07, Kashmir Panthers FC) securing the man of the match award.

In match No. 21, Kashmir Maharaja secured a solid 2–0 win, with goals from Altaf and Haris, with the Man of the Match award going to Altaf Ahmed Sheikh (Jersey No. 08, Kashmir Maharaja FC).

The matches drew an enthusiastic response from the spectators, who applauded the players’ energy and commitment.
