Jitendra Singh asks J&K youth to transform ‘Viksit Bharat’ idea into reality
Srinagar, Jan 12: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and Minister of State for PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, hosted a dinner for approximately 100 students from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh as part of the ongoing "National Youth Festival 2025," organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The gathering aimed to inspire participants to utilise the festival as a launching pad for converting innovative ideas into actionable plans contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat (developed India).
During his address, Dr. Singh encouraged the youth to tap into regional resources for livelihood and startup opportunities, stressing the vital role of youth-driven initiatives in India’s developmental trajectory. "Events like the National Youth Festival 2025 provide a unique national platform for young individuals to channel their creativity, aspirations, and energy into meaningful contributions toward a developed India," he stated.
He praised the enthusiasm of the students, noting that their participation represents the dynamic spirit of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. "The involvement of youth from these regions reflects your eagerness to contribute to India’s growth story. Your ideas and actions can bring transformative change, not just for your communities but for the nation as a whole," Dr Singh remarked.
The minister highlighted several initiatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth. He pointed out the successful growth of startups in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly in sectors such as lavender cultivation under the Aroma Mission. Encouraging the students to draw inspiration from these successes, he urged them to explore opportunities in biotechnology, agritech, and renewable energy.
Dr Singh assured the students of the Ministry's full support in nurturing their entrepreneurial visions and helping them turn innovative ideas into impactful businesses. He also emphasised the importance of leveraging innovation and technology to address pressing challenges, encouraging participants to use their involvement in the festival to engage with diverse perspectives from across the country. These interactions, he noted, foster national integration and mutual understanding.
Attendees shared their aspirations and discussed solutions for regional and national issues, which Dr. Singh noted as a proactive approach. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting their ambitions and talents.
The "National Youth Festival 2025," taking place in New Delhi from January 10 to 12, celebrates the energy and potential of India’s youth, serving as a vibrant platform for young leaders to voice their ideas, collaborate for national development, and align with India's collective vision for future progress.
