Jammu-Srinagar highway reopens for traffic after closure due to snowfall

Srinagar, Dec 29: The 270-kilometer Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was reopened to traffic on Sunday after being closed due to heavy snowfall and slippery road conditions.

In a post on X, the Traffic Police Kashmir said: “Passenger traffic plying on Jamu-Srinagar NHW. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, overtaking will cause congestion, drive with caution as the road is slippery between Banihal and Qazigund.”

The post further said that Mughal Road/Sinthan road/Sonamarg-Kargil road/ Bhaderwah-Chamba Road are still closed due to snow accumulation.
