The Kashmir Police chief said, “Things have come out after postmortem. The bullets recovered are of shot and the timing of the incident (6:15 am) makes it suspicious. We are ascertaining if it is a case of rivalry.”

He said that the retired Police officer’s family was in mourning and the Police had not spoken to them about this yet.

“Things will be clear soon. The presence of terrorists in such an area is very rare,” Birdi said.

A shotgun is a type of long-barreled firearm that is designed to be fired from the shoulder, and it is often used to shoot a spread of projectiles called “shots”.
