SC Collegium recommends 3 J&K additional judges to be appointed permanent judges

Srinagar, Mar 6: The Supreme Court Collegium Thursday approved the proposal for the appointment of the three Additional Judges as Permanent Judges in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court, the judges include Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, and Justice Muhammad Yousuf Wani.

Hailing from Katra, Justice Nargal was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court on June 1, 2022, and took oath of office two days later.

Justice Sekhri, born in Jammu, was elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court on July 27, 2022, and took oath two days later.

Justice Wani, born in village Brinty Batapora of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district assumed the charge of his office upon being administered the oath of office on March 25 last year.

He joined the judicial service on December 9, 1997, and served as a judicial officer in various capacities.
