Hideout busted after encounter in Surankote forests

Rajouri, Sept 13: Security forces have busted a hideout in dense forests of Chamrer in Poonch's Surankote day after gunfight took place in the area during an anti militancy operation.

Officials said that an anti militancy operation launched in dense forest of Chamrer in Surankote entered day two on Friday with joint teams of army, police and CRPF conducted searches in dense forest of Chamrer village.

They said that a hideout has been busted by forces in the forest area. They added that a loaded magazine of AK rifle, explosives, blankets, pouch and some eatables and drinks have been recovered from the hideout.

"The area was cordoned and target area was searched, during the search the security forces were fired upon by the hiding militants. However the fire was retaliated by the security forces," they said.

Taking the advantage of the thick forest cover the militants managed to slip away and additional forced have been pushed in and the whole area was cordoned off and now a hideout has been busted, they further said.
