Hi-tech machines clear snow ahead of New Year in Bhaderwah

Bhaderwah, Dec 29: To facilitate the visitors to enjoy the snow-filled tourist spots like Padri, Guldanda, Jaie, and Khanni Top of Bhaderwah Valley at the earliest, the Mechanical Division and Border Roads Organisation (BRO) deployed a dozen hi-tech snow-clearing machines to carry snow-clearing operation on a war footing.

After clearing the snow from the interior roads of the town on Saturday, the Mechanical Division and BRO simultaneously started snow-clearing operations on Sunday morning from Bhaderwah-Chamba and Bhaderwah-Pathankot interstate highways.

Executive Engineer Mechanical Division Khellani, Manjeet Kotwal told Greater Kashmir that to facilitate the locals and visitors, 10 hi-tech machines had been deployed on different roads of Bhaderwah including the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road to remove the snow and to make them motorable at the earliest.

After Saturday’s heavy snowfall in Bhaderwah Valley, a large number of tourists are expected to visit famous high-altitude tourist destinations like Guldanda, Chattergalla, Khanni Top, and Padri to celebrate the New Year.

Doda district administration is making all efforts to make these snow destinations available to visitors at the earliest.
