CRS inspection on last stage of work rescheduled
Ramban, Jan 1: The proposed statutory inspection of Commissioner Railways Safety (CRS) on the last stage of the work in the 17 kms, Katra –Reasi section of the USBRL project has been re-scheduled.
In an official communiqué, the Ministry of Civil Aviation Government of India has asked Northern Railways to arrange the movement of the inspection carriage nominated for the commissioner of railways safety, Northern Circle New Delhi for the Statutory Inspection for opening of Katra-Reasi (16.501 Km) section in connection with Udhampur-Srinagar- Baramulla New B.G Rail Link Project on January 7 and 8.
It was stated that during the inspection the CAO/USBRL, CBE, CSE, COM-G, CEGE, from headquarters DMR/FZR and BOs shall accompany the Commissioner Railways Safety.
Officials said the Commissioner of Railways Safety (CRS) would submit an inspection report to the union government on their return to New Delhi.
Earlier, on December, 20, the Ministry of Civil Aviation Government of India has asked Northern Railways to arrange the movement of the inspection carriage nominated for the commissioner of railways safety, Northern Circle New Delhi for the statutory inspection for the opening of Katra-Reasi (16.501kms) section of Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla New BG Rail Line Project on January 5 to 6, 2025.
It is important to mention here that with the inspection of the thi17 km rail line between Katra and Reasi, the 272 km long USBRL project would be completed.
Official sources said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch this much-awaited rail service between New Delhi and Kashmir by or before January 2025.
People of valley Kashmir area are eagerly waiting for the operation of Delhi- Srinagar rail services.
Official sources said all the works on the Katra-Reasi to Banihal section were already completed. They said staff was deployed at all the new stations en route to Banihal and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch Rail service to Kashmir anytime after CRS inspection.
