Handcrafts exhibition held in Bhaderwah
Bhaderwah, Nov 27: Assistant Director Handicrafts and Handloom on Wednesday organised a one-day exhibition-cum-awareness programme showcasing "Crafts in Practice" here in the Community Hall Bhaderwah. The event aimed to promote traditional crafts and support local artisans in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh was the Chief Guest, accompanied by the Commanding Officer (CO) Army, Yogesh Chauhan, the Chief Planning Officer (CPO) and other senior officers and officials.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large gathering, including artisans, craft enthusiasts and members of the local community.
The Deputy Commissioner along with CO Army and other dignitaries, inspected the stalls set up by local artisans, which highlighted the rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship of the region. The stalls displayed a variety of handloom and handicraft products, including woollen shawls, pashmina items, wood carvings, and bamboo crafts.
As part of the program, certificates were distributed to participants and artisans in recognition of their outstanding contributions to preserving traditional crafts.
Speaking at the event, the DC appreciated the efforts of the Handicrafts and Handloom Department in organising the exhibition and encouraged artisans to explore innovative ways to enhance their craft. He assured full support from the district administration in promoting the local handicraft and handloom sector.
