Sopore, Jan 16: In a thrilling culmination to the 4th edition of the Kashmir Cricket League held in Chandigarh, Hamdan Hurricanes emerged triumphant, securing the championship title. The highly contested league featured a total of 16 teams vying for cricket glory.

The champions, Hamdan Hurricanes, were honoured with a cash prize of Rs 1,50,000 along with a prestigious trophy, marking their outstanding performance. The runners-up, United Imports Srinagar, were awarded Rs 1,00,000, accompanied by a momentum token.

The final showdown of the league took place between Hamdan Hurricanes Srinagar and United Imports Srinagar. In a fiercely competitive match, Hamdan Hurricanes clinched victory by 23 runs, hoisting the coveted trophy of the league.

Aqib Mir, renowned as the Wall of Kashmir Cricket, was declared the champion of the league, receiving a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and an accolade. Akeel Mir of Hamdan Hurricanes earned the title of Player of the Match, with Aqib Mir recognised as the Best Batsman, Faizan Rouf as the Best Bowler, Samar Ameen as the Best Wicketkeeper, and Afaan Wani emerging as the league's Emerging Player.

The league captured the attention of cricket enthusiasts as all matches were broadcast live on JK Sportstime. The voices of the Valley's beloved English Commentator, Munawar Tanveer, and Hindi Commentator, Sheikh Nazir, brought the matches to life, complemented by the photography skills of Showkat Bhat.

Expressing gratitude during the presentation ceremony, Chief Organiser Gulzar Ahmad extended thanks to all participating teams and well-wishers for their unwavering support throughout the championship. The event was graced by Chief Guest Mir Mukhtar, with Mushtaq Ahmad War and Ab Qayoom presented as Guests of Honour, adding prestige to the occasion.
