Earlier, students of GMC Srinagar held a protest to demand action against a fellow student who allegedly posted an objectionable post on WhatsApp.
The students assembled inside the campus and raised slogans against the alleged act.

Meanwhile, the Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) GMC and Associated hospitals condemned the incident, saying the RDA expresses its "most fervent condemnation of the deplorable act of blasphemy perpetrated by an undergraduate medical student of our esteemed institution."

The act, the RDA said not only wounds the religious sensibilities but also disturbs the social fabric and harmony, which they said, they hold dear.
