'Check stray dog menace in city centre areas'
Srinagar, Jan 15: A delegation from the Masjid Noor Committee, comprising residents and shopkeepers from Court Road, met with the Commissioner of Srinagar Municipal Corporation and CEO of the Smart City Project, Dr. Owais Ahmad, on Wednesday.
The purpose of the meeting was to highlight various challenges faced by the community, particularly concerning the ongoing issue of stray dogs in prominent areas including Lal Chowk, Kokar Bazar, and Court Road, Kawaj Bagh.
The delegation expressed their concerns and sought immediate attention to the problems affecting their safety and quality of life and also highlighted the need for street lights. The delegation said that Commissioner Dr Owais Ahmad assured the delegation that necessary steps will be taken to address the issues.
Following the meeting, members of the delegation gathered at Lal Chowk, where they commended Dr Owais Ahmad for his positive approach and commitment to address the community’s needs. They appreciated his willingness to engage with residents and his proactive stance on facilitating solutions.
'The community looks forward to witnessing the swift implementation of measures promised by the Commissioner, fostering a safer and more pleasant environment for all," they added.
