Forest fire rages in DKG area

Rajouri, Jan 13: Fresh forest fire has raged in Dehra Ki Gali (DKG) forests after it engulfed forest area of Nar, Bhata Dhurian.

Fire fighting operation has been launched by forest protection staff in the area also.

Officials said that forest fire erupted in forest area of Dehra Ki Gali falling on the boundary of Rajouri and Poonch districts.

The fire erupted on Saturday late evening and was spreading rapidly in the area.

Assistant Director Forest Protection Force, Masood Choudhary said that manpower of forest department and forest protection department is working for fire fighting and efforts are being made to control the flames.
