Fire damages several houseboats in Dal lake

Srinagar, Nov 11: Several houseboats were gutted in a massive fire in Dal Lake, officials said today.

They said that the fire erupted in one of the houseboats near Ghat number 9 and engulfed several others in its vicinity before the fire was brought under control.

The property worth crores of rupees was lost due to the fire, they said.

As per the initial report, at least half a dozen houseboats were damaged due to the fire.

The cause of the fire is being ascertained, they added. (GNS)
