Fire breaks out in Hajibal forests in north Kashmir’s Baramulla
Srinagar, Oct 27: A massive forest fire erupted on Hajibal Road in Baramulla, spreading rapidly due to dry weather conditions, news agency KINS reported.
Residents quickly appealed to the fire department for immediate assistance, hoping to control the blaze before it causes significant ecological damage.
As winter sets in, the dry landscape and parched vegetation in Kashmir become prone to fires, creating a persistent seasonal threat.
Forests and rural areas, particularly those with dense tree cover, are highly vulnerable as dry leaves and underbrush can catch fire with minimal ignition.
Authorities have repeatedly urged locals to heed fire advisories during these high-risk months, emphasizing the importance of preventive measures to minimize such incidents.
However firefighting teams are reportedly en route.
Further details are awaited.
