Finance Deptt orders inclusion of IT, JAKEGA officials in IT-related Purchase Committee
Srinagar, Nov 28: In a move aimed at enhancing efficiency and promoting decentralisation, the Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department has issued a directive to include officials from the IT Department and JAKEGA in the Purchase Committee for IT-related purchases.
The order, issued in compliance with S.O 15 dated January 9, 2020, grants all departments the authority to establish Purchase Committees comprised of senior and experienced officers. The committees are mandated to include the Director of Finance from the respective department and a representative from the Industries and Commerce Department.
An order issued in this regard reads "As per S.O 15 dated: 09-01-2020, all departments have been vested with the powers to form a Purchase Committee in the department. Purchase Committees shall be constituted of senior and experienced officers. Director Finance of the department and representative of the Industries and Commerce Department shall also be members of the said committee."
"To improve efficiency and decentralization, the IT Department has requested to include two members (one from the IT department and another from JAKEGA) in the Purchase Committee for IT- related procurement.
Accordingly, all the Administrative Departments are advised to include two additional members (one from the IT department and another from JAKEGA) 0n the purchase committees for IT-related procurement as per SO 15 dated: 09-01-2020."
