Female CRPF athletes shine, win silver in ski-mountaineering

Gulmarg, Mar 12: With the 5th edition of the 2025 Khelo India Winter Games’ second phase in Gulmarg concluding on Wednesday, female athletes of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) made a mark at the 5th Khelo India Winter Games 2025 in Gulmarg, securing silver in ski-mountaineering and finishing second in the event.

Competing against top contenders in a statement issued, the CRPF women’s team showcased remarkable skill and endurance, reinforcing the force’s commitment to women’s empowerment in sports.

“It is a matter of immense pride that the female athletes of CRPF secured 2nd position and bagged a silver medal in ski mountaineering. The CRPF contingent of 14 males and 04 female athletes had participated in Nordic, Alpine, Snowboarding, and ski-mountaineering,” the statement read.

The statement added, “CRPF is always striving for women empowerment, and women in CRPF are not only performing the duties in the hazardous terrain of J&K and the Northeast, but they are also bringing laurels in the field of sports.”

The statement added that the Khelo India Winter Games continue to highlight the talent and potential of winter sports athletes from across the country.
