Farmers compensated for land acquired by BSF, says J&K CM
Responding to a question from BJP MLA Vijay Kumar, the Chief Minister informed the House that 13,415 kanals of land across 113 villages in Samba and Kathua districts had been acquired by the Border Security Force (BSF) for border fencing.

Jammu, March 24: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said that a significant portion of the compensation had been disbursed to farmers whose land was acquired by the BSF for border fencing.
Responding to a question from BJP MLA Vijay Kumar, the Chief Minister informed the House that 13,415 kanals of land across 113 villages in Samba and Kathua districts had been acquired by the Border Security Force (BSF) for border fencing.

"An amount of Rs 1,555.08 crore has been received by the concerned collectors, out of which Rs 144.12 crore has been disbursed to the landowners, while the remaining amount is under the process of title verification," said the Chief Minister.
