Explosion outside Army camp in Surankote, searches on

Rajouri, Dec 4: The security forces launched a probe beside the area domination after a mysterious explosion rocked Surankote town and peripheral areas on Tuesday night.

Believed to have happened near an Army camp, forces are ascertaining the nature of this explosion with grenade lobbying not being ruled out so far.

Official sources said that at 10:45 pm on Tuesday, the sound of an explosion was heard in Surankote town areas and its periphery with people coming out of their homes after the explosion.

They said that though the exact place of this explosion was not clear, it was believed to have occurred near an Army camp located in the town.

Official sources said, “Soon after this explosion was heard, security forces launched a massive area domination exercise and conducted intense searches in the town area.”

They said that a probe had been started to ascertain the nature of this explosion.

However, neither the Police nor the Army issued any official statement on the issue.
