Srinagar, Sep 13: Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Surinder Choudhary on Saturday congratulated Kathua’s Anekha Devi for being selected to represent India in the inaugural Women’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, calling her journey from the hills of Lohi Malhar to the world stage ‘an inspiration for countless dreams’.

“Heartiest congratulations to Miss Anekha Devi from Kathua for being selected to represent India in the Women’s Blind Cricket World Cup. From the hills of Lohi Malhar to the world stage, her journey is an inspiration for countless dreams. Proud of you!” Choudhary wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Anekha Devi, 20, hails from Kathua district. From North India, she features in the 16-member Indian squad, finalised by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI).

The maiden Women’s Blind Cricket World Cup will be held from November 11 to 25 and will feature teams from several countries.
