Kangan, Oct 28: In a closely contested match at the Sheikh-ul-Alam Cricket Ground in Kangan, the District Police Ganderbal team defeated the District Administration Ganderbal by three wickets in an exciting encounter organised by the Kangan Cricket Board.

District Administration Ganderbal won the toss and elected to bat first, putting up an impressive total of 224 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Dr Nazir Ahmad (SDM Kangan) played a brilliant knock of 69 runs off just 36 balls, while Sheikh Ishtiyaq contributed 54 runs in just 17 balls, and Adil Rashid added a quick 26 runs from 11 balls.

In response, District Police Ganderbal chased down the target of 225 runs and won the match by 3 wickets, with Umer Nabi remaining not out after a splendid 51 runs off 20 balls.

Dr Nazir (SDM Kangan) was declared the Best Batsman of the Match, while Dr Sheikh Salahuddin (Assistant Commissioner Revenue) was awarded Best Bowler for his outstanding performance, taking 5 crucial wickets.  At the conclusion, both teams congratulated each other for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit.

The District Police Ganderbal team was led by SHO Kangan Lateef Ali, while Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr Salahuddin led the District Administration Ganderbal side.  Local people appreciated and welcomed this healthy sporting initiative aimed at promoting unity and fitness among officers and youth alike.
