Cultural festival concludes at IUST
Awantipora, Nov 16: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) celebrated its 19th Foundation Day with a vibrant and colourful cultural festival, “JASHN-I-KALA SANSKRITI,” organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Young Dramatists Society, and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir Bank and the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages.
The four-day theatre and cultural festival highlighted a blend of artistic expressions and dynamic performances.
The festival featured active participation from artists of the Young Dramatists Society and IUST students. The event was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo and was coordinated by Dean of Students Dr Asifa Baba, University Cultural Coordinator Dr Farhana Mehraj Allai, and the University Cultural Club.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Shakil A Romshoo, Vice Chancellor remarked, that cultural festivals like “these are not just celebrations but platforms that connect us to our heritage, foster creativity, and nurture young talent,” and that the IUST is committed to promoting such initiatives for holistic education.
Altaf Hussain, representing the Young Dramatists Society, appreciated IUST’s efforts in integrating cultural festivals into its academic and celebratory calendar.
