Cricketer Kanchan Kumari dies in accident, YSS mourns loss

Srinagar, Sep 11: The sports community of J&K is in a state of profound grief following the tragic and untimely demise of Kanchan Kumari, a young and dynamic cricketer and Rehbar e Khail physical education teacher from the Sports Zone, Satwari. Kumari, who tragically passed away in a fatal accident.

As per a statement issued on Thursday, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) has expressed deep sorrow and extended its heartfelt condolences on her tragic passing.

Anuradha Gupta, Director General of the Youth Services and Sports Department, while conveying profound grief on behalf of the entire Department, has stated, "We are devastated by the loss of such a promising young talent. Kanchan Kumari was a dedicated and dynamic sportsperson who represented the vibrant future of cricket in J&K."

In her message, the Director General extended her deepest sympathies to the bereaved family from the Directorate of YSS. "In this hour of immense grief, our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of Kanchan. We pray to the Almighty to give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss."

The Directorate of YSS also joined the family in praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

The sudden loss of Kumari has left a significant void in the sporting fraternity of the Union Territory.
