Crane operator dies in Drabshalla accident

Ramban, Jan 8:  crane operator died on the spot after a hydra crane he was driving went out of control and plunged into the embankments of River Chenab in the Drabshalla area late Monday evening.

Police said that a rashly and negligently driven Hydra crane went out of the control of its operators from a link road in Drabshalla and fell into River Chenab, resulting in the death of the crane operator on the spot.

Police identified the deceased operator as Sanjay Saini, son of Ram Ashish of Uttar Pradesh, present living in Drabshalla.

They said that the body of the deceased operator was shifted to Trauma Hospital Thathri for conducting postmortem.

The Hyrda crane was engaged with the Rattle Power Project and the accident occurred when the Hyrda crane was heading to the project site Drabshalla alongside River Chenab from the main road.

They said that the operator of the crane tried his best to save his life by jumping out but died.
