CIU Kishtwar recovers defrauded funds of Rs 1.22 lakh: SSP

Kishtwar, Feb 17: Cybercrime Investigation Unit (CIU) of District Police Kishtwar Saturday stated to have achieved a significant breakthrough in its fight against cybercrime by successfully recovering defrauded funds totalling Rs 1,22,557.

SSP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom said, “This remarkable feat demonstrates the unit's expertise, dedication, and commitment to safeguarding the community from online threats.”

SSP Qayoom said that on February 9, 2024, a complaint was lodged by one Jai Prakash, reporting a fraudulent transaction of Rs 1,22,557 involving a Netflix QR code. Through meticulous investigation, it was revealed that the funds were transferred to the account Merchant named Payxsilica.com.
