Chinese national deported from Srinagar
Srinagar, Dec 10: The authorities deported a Chinese national who was found staying in Srinagar without the requisite visa endorsement permitting travel to J&K on Wednesday.
The individual, identified as Hu Congtai, was intercepted after Police received information about a foreign national residing in the city under suspicious circumstances.
Upon verification, officials discovered that the traveller’s Indian visa allowed movement only to selected destinations – Varanasi, Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Sarnath, Gaya, and Kushinagar. Jammu and Kashmir was not among the locations endorsed on his travel document.
Police officials said that the Chinese national had arrived in Srinagar.
His presence in the region went unnoticed until intelligence inputs flagged the issue, prompting a swift inquiry.
