CEO directs strict scrutiny, penalties

Srinagar, Oct 5: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) J&K Saturday directed all the District Election Officers (DEOs) to scrutinise the suspension cases of employees thoroughly against whom complaints were received for their involvement in election campaigning.

In an official communication addressed to all DEOs across J&K, the CEO instructed them to stop one increment of the employees in proven cases and make an entry in their service book so that a strong message goes to them and other like-minded employees.

“This should act as a deterrent for them and other employees to desist from involvement in political campaigning in future,” reads an official communication signed by the Special Secretary in the Office of CEO J&K.

“The action taken report should be shared with this office at the earliest,” it reads.
