Global Leaders Extend Well Wishes

In addition to Modi’s message, several European leaders voiced their support and optimism for Trump’s second term as reported by the international media. French President Emmanuel Macron said he was "ready to work together" with Trump again, emphasising the importance of US-French cooperation on global issues. Macron’s message reflects France’s longstanding alliance with the United States and the shared goal of addressing challenges in areas like climate change, security, and international trade.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also congratulated Trump, highlighting the value of “peace through strength” in bringing about a "just peace" in Ukraine. Zelensky’s words hint at hopes for continued US support amid Ukraine’s ongoing conflict, underscoring how vital American involvement remains for regional stability.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte echoed Zelensky’s sentiments, emphasising Trump’s leadership as "key" in addressing "a growing number of challenges globally.” With rising geopolitical tensions, Rutte’s message highlights the importance of a unified NATO under Trump’s leadership.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni praised the "unshakeable alliance" between Italy and the United States, affirming that their nations' bond would "strengthen even further" under Trump. Italy, a close ally of the US in NATO, sees Trump’s return as an opportunity to deepen cooperation on defence and regional security.

Meanwhile, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala expressed hopes of maintaining strong US-Czech relations, saying he aims to ensure that "relations between our countries remain at the highest level" for the benefit of both nations’ citizens. His comments suggest continued collaboration in economic, scientific, and security matters that benefit both nations.
