As per the date sheet notified by BOSE for hard zone areas, the examination centre would be specified on the admit card (Roll No slips) to be provided to the students.

“The examinees are advised to adhere to the instructions strictly given on the back side of the admit cards and bring the same (admit card) on all days of examination for verification,” the notification reads.

It further reads that the examinees should not bring any kind of material including electronic gadgets like mobile phones and headphones which could help them indulge in unfair means in any way in the examination.

Notably, the BOSE has already notified the date sheet for class 10th to 12th students enrolled in schools falling in soft zone areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the date sheet, the examination of class 10th students in soft zone areas would commence on March 11, 2024, and culminate on April 3.

Similarly, the examination of class 11th students in soft zone areas would commence on March 30, 2024, and culminate on April 25.

The examination of class 12th students would commence on March 6, 2024, and culminate on March 28, 2024.

Around 444 schools – 135 in Kashmir division and 309 in Jammu fall in hard zones while seven zones of Kargil district and the entire Ladakh area fall in hard zones.

In Kashmir division, 43 schools of Anantnag, 19 of Bandipora, Kupwara 32, Kulgam 28, and 13 schools in Budgam districts fall in hard zones.

In the Jammu division, 50 schools of Kishtwar, 47 of Reasi, Rajouri seven, Poonch 20, Doda 56, Ramban 64, and 65 schools of Udhampur fall in hard zones.

Earlier, Director Academics BOSE, Sudhir Singh told Greater Kashmir that the School Education Department (SED) initiated a process to categorise various hard zone schools as soft zones in J&K in the wake of the persistent public demand to reclassify certain hard zone schools as soft zone schools.

Notably, this year, the BOSE tagged “on-roll” students of hundreds of private academic institutions of Kashmir operating on proprietary land with “expired affiliations”.

The decision was taken amid stiff opposition from the private school proprietors against the shifting of students from private to government schools.

However, the BOSE justified its decision citing that all these schools failed to furnish their extension case file which prompted the BOSE to tag students of these institutions with the nearby government schools.
