Body recovered from Uajj rivulet in Basantgarh

Ramban, Sep 07: Udhampur Police with the help of NDRF stationed at Udhampur recovered the body of a man who was drowned in Ujj rivulet in Dudu Basantgarh area of Udhampur district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Manzoor Ahmed, 25, son of Abdul Rehman Nijjar resident of Chambawass, Banihal .

Official sources said rescue teams of Police and NDRF traced and retrieved the dead body of a man who was drowned in rivulet Dudu Basantgarh area of Udhampur district on Friday. Earlier on Friday afternoon police and locals also launched a search operation to trace out drowned youth.

They said a search operation to trace out drowned man was re- launched jointly by locals , police and NDRF team and finally the body was traced and retrieved from Ujj on Saturday morning.

After completing legal and medical formalities the body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs.

Sources said the deceased was working as a labourer in Dudu Basantgarh.
