Baramulla hosts district-level U-17 Boys’ Sports Tournament
Baramulla, July 5: The Showkat Ali Stadium in Baramulla today witnessed the grand opening of the Under 17 boys’ Kho Kho, Volleyball, and Kabaddi competitions, following the successful conclusion of the Under 14 events yesterday. Nazir Ahmad Bhat, DYSSO Baramulla, inaugurated the ceremony alongside senior officials from the Youth Services and Sports (YSS) department, commencing with a pledge ceremony.
This two-day tournament, organized by the Youth Services and Sports Department Baramulla, will see nearly 600 students from 18 zones across the district competing in various sports disciplines.
During his opening address, Nazir Ahmad Bhat welcomed the participants and commended the field staff for their exceptional efforts in organizing the event. He highlighted the crucial role of sports in developing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among young athletes.
The Under 17 boys’ competitions are anticipated to be fiercely contested, showcasing the talents and determination of Baramulla’s youth in Kho Kho, Volleyball, and Kabaddi.
