Amazon partners with Govt Deptts to strengthen artisans, entrepreneurs
Srinagar, Dec 11: Amazon India has announced new collaborations with key Government of India institutions to support traditional artisans, women-led enterprises, startups, and logistics-focused research. The partnerships with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), and Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) aim to expand market access and strengthen capability-building across sectors.
A statement said that Amazon’s partnership with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, the country’s first logistics and transportation university, will focus on research, multimodal transport, railway freight corridors, and sustainability.
An MoU is being formalised with the Office of the Vice Chancellor, along with the creation of a research chair to advance studies on logistics efficiency and warehousing challenges.
The company is also collaborating with MoMSME to support the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.
