Police conduct searches linked to UAPA case in Sopore

Sopore, Dec 11:Sopore Police on Thursday carried out coordinated searches at multiple locations as part of the investigation into FIR No. 10/2024, registered under Sections 10 and 13 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act against members of the banned organisation Tehreek-e-Hurriyat.

Search teams searched the residential houses and premises of Zaffar Islam alias Yadullah Peer, son of Abdul Rasheed Peer of Dangerpora Sopore; Lateef Ahmad Kaloo, son of Ghulam Nabi Kaloo of Hanfia Colony, Arampora Sopore; and Mohammad Ashraf Malik, son of Mohammad Abdullah Malik of Tawheed Bagh Sopore.

The searches were conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate after valid search warrants were obtained from the Court of the Special Judge UAPA, Sopore.

Police examined relevant material and electronic devices during the operation. Officials said further procedures mandated under law are underway as part of the ongoing investigation.

Sopore Police reaffirmed their commitment to taking action against individuals linked with banned organisations and dismantling networks attempting to disturb peace and stability in the district.
