AAP govt playing politics on paddy procurement: Chugh
Chandigarh, Oct 30: The BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today strongly condemned the AAP government in Punjab for politicising the issue of paddy procurement in the state.
In a statement, he said that the poor paddy procurement process has starkly exposed the administrative inefficiency of the Bhagwant Mann government in supporting the farmers. “Shifting the blame to the Centre is yet another tactic the state government is using to mislead the people of Punjab,” Chugh said.
The BJP leader highlighted that the Centre has allocated over Rs 41,000 crores to the Bhagwant Mann government for paddy procurement. However, the state’s administrative machinery has collapsed, creating an artificial crisis that has left farmers in a difficult situation, he added.
The Modi government has consistently supported farmers by not only increasing the MSP but also ensuring doorstep access to essential supplies like fertilizers. "But the AAP government in Punjab has mishandled the entire situation, putting the farming community in crisis in a state that serves as the country's food bowl," Chugh added.
