216 posts revived in Prisons Department
Jammu, May 31: The J&K Home Department has accorded sanction to the revival of 210 posts of warders and 6 posts of warder drivers in the Prisons Department.
Sanction has been accorded following the concurrence of the Finance department and subsequent approval from the competent authority.
As per an order issued by Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, these posts were among 257 posts of warders and 6 posts of warder drivers, which were deemed to be abolished in terms of the Finance department's circular instructions.
“For referring the vacant posts to the J&K Service Selection Board for initiating the process of recruitment, DG Prisons, J&K was requested to submit the indents for all the vacant posts, at the non-gazetted level, under direct quota, which were free from all encumbrances,” Bharti stated.
The DG Prisons, J&K forwarded the indents of all the vacant non-gazetted posts in the Prisons Department, which included the posts of warders and warder drivers, for their referral to the J&K SSB.
