2 women among 3 injured in Samba blast

Jammu, May 27: Two women were among three persons, who sustained injuries in a mysterious blast in Khada Madana area of Purmandal in Samba district on Monday evening.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Vinay Sharma said, “Today at about 8.15 pm, a mysterious blast took place in Khada Madana , Purmandal near nullah in Samba district. 3 persons were injured. They were immediately shifted to hospital. Injuries are non critical.”

“Prima facie, the reason for the blast seems to be the explosion of an old rusted shell. Further investigation is going on,” he said.

Three injured persons have been identified as Suriya Bibi, 58, wife of Shash din; Rameet Singh, 66, Sansar Singh and Semroo Devi, 76, wife of Dharam Chand, all residents of Khada Madana, Purmandal (Samba).
