In response to the incident, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Moscow have raised the issue with the Russian Ambassador in New Delhi and other relevant officials in Moscow.

They are advocating for the immediate release and repatriation of all Indian nationals currently serving in the Russian Army.

India has also demanded that Russia halt any further recruitment of Indian nationals into its armed forces.

The MEA emphasised that such recruitment activities are not in line with the bilateral relationship between the two countries.

Furthermore, the MEA has advised Indian citizens to exercise caution when considering employment opportunities in Russia.
