Srinagar, Nov 14: The two-day Asmita Pencak Silat League 2025 concluded at Gunj Bakash Hanfiya Public High School, Arhama Shopian, Pulwama.

The event, as per a statement issued, witnessed an overwhelming participation of athletes and showcased exceptional talent and spirit among women athletes from across the region.

Professor Abdul Hamid Naikoo, Principal of Gunj Bakash Hanfiya Public High School, graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest and lauded the efforts of organisers and participants for promoting women's empowerment through sports. The event was attended by a large number of dignitaries, guests, teachers, parents, and enthusiastic spectators who witnessed the thrilling performances and competitions.

A total of around 230 athletes from various schools and clubs participated in the league, competing across sub-junior, junior, and senior categories. The bouts displayed remarkable discipline, skill, and the core values of Pencak Silat — respect, self-control, and perseverance.

The event was organised by the District Shopian-Pulwama Pencak Silat Association, underlining their continued efforts to promote martial arts among women and youth in South Kashmir. The President of the Association appreciated the dedication and performance of all participants, encouraging them to continue pursuing excellence in the sport.

The Asmita Pencak Silat League 2025 stood as a strong symbol of courage, unity, and empowerment, emphasising that sports like Pencak Silat not only build physical strength but also nurture character and confidence among young women.
