1 killed, 7 injured in Ramban road accidents

Ramban, Apr 15: One person was killed and seven others injured in two separate road accidents on Link roads of Ramsu and Ramban today.

Police said that a rashly driven Alto car bearing registration number JK14B - 6105 was on its way to Senabathi from Ukhral. It skidded off the road and fell into 300 meters deep gorge near Barmand, Mandir Senabathi. One person died on the spot whereas driver of the vehicle sustained injuries.

Police identified the deceased as Omkar Singh son of Raghunath resident of Chunthan Senabath, Tehsil, Pogal Paristan (Ukhral). He was working as a Lineman in Jammu Power Development Corporation Limited, (JPDCL) .Police identified the injured driver as Mohammad Rafiq son of Sadiq Ahmed resident of Gujrara Senabathi, Tehsil Pogal Paristan Ukhral.

In another road accident, a TaTa Sumo plunged into a gorge near Mian, on the Seri - Balihote link road. Police said at around 7 pm, Monday TaTa Sumo bearing registration number JK03A- 9837 on its way to Balihote from Ramban plunged into a 60-feet-deep gorge near Mian resulting in six persons including the driver travelling in the vehicle sustaining injuries.
