1 killed, 4 injured in separate accidents at Ramsu

Ramban, Mar 15 : One person was killed and four others injured in two separate road accidents at Ramsu area on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Friday.

A heavy motor vehicle driver was killed while a helper s injured in a road mishap. Police sources said a Srinagar-bound rashly driven truck bearing registration No.PB35Q-8638 collided with a truck bearing registration No. JK02BF-7842 from the rear side at tunnel T5, Panthyal, Magarkote. The driver of the rashly driven truck died on the spot whereas three others sustained injuries.

Police said the dead and injured were shifted to PHC Ramsu.

Police identified the deceased driver as Salinder Singh son of Mohan Singh resident of Sujanpur Punjab. They said his helper identified as Chetan Kumar son of Raj Kumar resident of Shujanpoor, Pathankot, Punjab got injured.

They said the driver of another truck, Sunil Singh Jamwal son of Jagdav Singh Jamwal resident of Bast Chanani received minor injuries.

In another accident Swift car bearing registration number JK13J- 0376 on its way to Srinagar from Jammu skidded off the road and fell into a 200 feet gorge at Hingni, Ramsu resulting in two people getting injured, they were rushed to Sub District Hospital Banihal for treatment.

Police identified both the injured as driver Fayaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi, and Vakeel Ahmed, son of Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, both residents of Pulwama, Kashmir.

Ramsu Police has registered two separate FIRs, 32, and 34, under relevant sections of law at Police Station Ramsu for further investigations.
