1 held by security forces in Surankote

Rajouri, Sept 13: Security forces in Poonch district have arrested a man, a terror associate of Jammu and Kashmir Gaznavi Force

Police said hand grenades and explosives with some rare explosive materials including pen bomb, tiffin bomb, perfume bottle IED have also been recovered.

In official statement, police said that the arrested terror associate of J&K Gaznavi Force has been apprehended with huge explosives substance and grenades.

"On 12th of September evening, a joint naka of police and army (16 RR) and 38 Battalion CRPF was laid at Potha bypass. During search the security personnel noticed a person coming from Surankote towards Potha in a suspicious manner," police spokesperson said.

On seeing the security forces the suspect tried to escape but the alert forces apprehended him, he said . He added that during the search, a blue bag containing three hand grenades, explosive substance and other incriminating material was recovered from his possession .

The individual has been identified as Mohammad Shabir son of Mohammad Farooq resident of Daryala Nowshera who is in touch with a POOK handler namely Azim Khan @ Mudeer who directed him to collect this consignment from Surankote town, police further said.

Police has taken cognisance and more arrests are expected.

The official sources meanwhile said that explosive material in brick shaped, a tiffin IED, a perfume IED, explosive packed in nasal drop bottle, ball bomb, pen bomb, explosive packed in cream pack among other explosive material has been recovered.
