Daily wagers, need based workers of PDC sit on hunger strike at Chanderkote

Daily wagers and need based workers of Baglihar Hydro Electric Project working in various wings of Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation who were on strike since more than one month have gone to chain hunger strike from today.

They alleged that they were compelled for this extreme step by the officers and authorities of Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation who remained unconcerned to over plight since decades.

They alleged that officers and engineers of the corporation posted it various wings are spending lavishly on their comforts and misusing the facilities provided to them from tax payers money are making un due hurdles in our just demand.

Spokeswomen of the union Gulshan Begum alleged that the concerned officers are assuring to the daily wagers since last more than a decade but they never kept their promise nor they make any serious effort in this regard however ineligible daily wagers were taken into regular services without full filling criteria as they were blue eyed boys of officers and politicians.

She further told no other option was left for us except to go on hunger strike so that un concerned and unconscious management of Power Development Corporation may wake up from their deep slumber.

President of the union hoped that the management of the corporation may not compelled this ignored lot who are on hunger strike for taking extreme and hard step to press our demands.
