The local district administration conducted late night inspections of round the clock health institutes in the district, in order to check the availability of doctors and other healthcare facilities in the hospitals. District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad constituted special squads of revenue officers and field staff to carry out the inspections, besides leading a team as well.

The DDC visited the district hospital, wherein he took stock of various wards, including emergency, gynaecology, surgery, medical and paediatric. He also checked the newborn care unit and interacted with the patients and took feedback of health services. He also observed that the duty roster should be placed conspicuously outside every ward for the convenience of masses.

The health institutes inspected included SDH Nowshera and Sunderbani, CHCs Kalakote, Kandi, Thannamandi and Darhal and PHC Shahdara Sharif, Lah, Bagla Nadyala, Budhal, Chatyar, Lamberi, Siot, Teryath, Dalhori, Ghambir Mughlan, Laroka and Moghla. Out of these, 4 PHCs were found locked, which included PHC Shahdara Sharif, Lah, Laroka and Bagla.

Taking serious note, the DDC ordered to withhold the salaries of all the employees of PHCs which were found locked and directed the Chief Medical Officer to initiate disciplinary action.
