Kargil, Sept 6: The National Conference, Islamia School Kargil and Ladakh Union Territory Front are likely to constitute an alliance to run the LAHDC, Kargil, sources said.
 National Conference has six members excluding two supportive members, Islamia School five and LUTF two. The former chief executive of the council, Asgar Ali Karbalaiee, said that the National Conference along with Islamia School and LUTF together would run the council.
 In the general council elections held recently, independents candidates won 17 seats, national conference six, and Congress bagged one seat. The elections to the second general council were conducted on August 30, 2008.
 The Hill council Kargil has 30 councillors with 26 elected and four nominated. In the second general Hill Council elections, Kachoo Ahmad Ali Khan received the highest margin of votes at 1659. His nearest rival got 501 votes.
 The sitting chairman LAHDC Kargil, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalaie won from Pashkum. He defeated his nearest rival, independent candidate, Muhammad Murtaza by 361 votes.
 The two sitting executive councillors Nasir Hussain Munshi and Sonam Namgail won the elections from Gundmaglepure and Karsha constituencies.
